Howdy all!
I've finally tried to install the latest version of Freenet on my main home
computer.
It installs but then I get:
Error Starting Program
The NODECONFIG.EXE file is linked to missing export
WININET.DLL:InternetGetConnectedState.
I believe it's because WININET.DLL is a DLL that's provided in IE 4 or 5+.
Don't know which. This will never work because I have very little of IE on
my system. (IE 2.0 I think).
My system is a cobbled-together install of Windows 95 (original+a+b+c) and
Netscape 4.7 and Opera 3.50 and Opera 6.
Any ideas? Also,
I get the following in the Freenet log even after I've modified the
freenet.ini file by hand.
Sep 24, 2002 10:42:50 PM (freenet.support.io.Bandwidth, main): new
Bandwidth(100000,0,BOTH)
Sep 24, 2002 10:42:50 PM (freenet.node.Main, main): loading node keys:
node_34806
Sep 24, 2002 10:42:50 PM (freenet.node.Main, main): Unexpected Exception:

java.lang.IllegalMonitorStateException: current thread not owner
at freenet.node.Node.makeNodeRef(Node.java, Compiled Code)
at freenet.node.Main.main(Main.java:307)
And Freenet just sits there unable to do anything.
Thanks,
John Cole
