My paypal account (on which I receive payments from Freenet Project Inc)
says I can only receive ?250.00 per month, and if I want to receive more
I will have to upgrade to a Premier account. It also says I have ?250.00
remaining this month (despite the fact that I have received more than
twice that).

I believe at the moment we pay:
2.9% + 30c/transaction for receiving on ian at freenetproject.org
(3.9% for non-US payees)
2.5% currency conversion (at my end)
= 5.4% - 6.4% + 30c/trans
(A lot of our users are non-US; I suspect a lot of our funders are too).

30c/trans = 6% of $5, 3% of $10, 1.5% of $20

If they force me to get a Premier account, (the limits have been around
for at least 2 months, so they may not), then that would go up to:
2.9% + 30c/transaction for receiving on ian at freenetproject.org
(3.9% for non-US payees)
3.9% + 20p/transaction for receiving on my end
2.5% currency conversion (at my end)
= 9.3% to 10.3% + 30c/trans

Now, lets take the 30c/trans into account as well (the 30p/trans is
irrelevant, but the 30c/trans isn't):
$5, non-US: 16.3% (12.4% if I can stay at Personal)
$5, US: 15.3% (11.4%)
$10, non-US: 13.3% (9.4%)
$10, US: 12.3% (8.4%)
$20, non-US: 11.8% (7.9%)
$20, US: 10.8% (6.9%)

Either way, intra-national wire transfers are free, and relatively easy;
should we have a page with bank details on the website? I believe you
have a US account for FPI; I am willing to receive onto my account, but
if we are advertising it you should probably open a dedicated account in
your name to avoid confusion and because I may not always be working for
FPI!

It's a shame nobody uses egold; it's actually cheaper for us, but it's a
lot more hassle to use for the sender. We should probably get a Google
Checkout account; good brand awareness, low fees and less hassle than
Amazon Honour System, although both the sender and the receiver must be
in the US, so we could only use it for the FPI end, and it might be
contrary to paypal's Terms and Conditions to use paypal to move the
resulting $.
