Hi,

        What do we need ?
                1) an "installer" asking for configuration options,
                writing a freenet.ini file

                2) a "packager" setting up a jvm if necessary and launching the
installer

                3) a bunch of hacks to create desktop icons (included in
IzPack) or some custom scripting (mostly done)

                4) a "daemonizer" ; a startup script ensuring the
                node/jvm is alive

My choices are :

1)
        http://www.izforge.com/izpack/ or http://antinstaller.sourceforge.net/
Izpack seems to be better, but I've started using antinstaller
and I'm to lazy to switch :/

my only concern is that antinstaller doesn't provide any
        "uninstaller" ... too bad ;)

@Ian or Toad : should it be considered as an issue ?

2)
http://launch4j.sourceforge.net/ for native binaries and JWS
        otherwise

3)
they are in svn under /apps/antinsintaller/installclasspath/

4)
        http://wrapper.tanukisoftware.org/doc/english/properties.html

Has anyone anything to say regarding those choices ?

I'm not keen on the idea of doing the installer myself as I
don't have access to a windows box... And most of the problems
are windows related ; Still, it needs to be done :/

If anyone is interested in doing it ^-^ ;)

Regards,
        NextGen$

PS: I'll have less time to contribute in the coming months, so I'm not
going to maintain the installer :p
