David, I think it is good practice with bugs like this to submit them to the bugtracker, then if its urgent as this one appears to be and you want to ensure that it is noticed, follow up with a message to devl, citing the bug number.
It may not be critical to do this now, but hopefully when Freenet 0.7 gains in popularity, it will be important to use a bugtracker to keep track of issue reports, and help developers manage their time.
