I was thinking this (and maybe other commonly changed things like setting the node name) could have a separate setup page rather than being lumped in the all the config options that most people won't touch. Also allows you to have thumbnails of each theme. Either way, you've welcome to fix it if it's a priority before somebody else gets time. Otherwise, there're the bug tracker for these kind of issues, rather than sending a mail to the mailing list which I for one, with the best will in the world, will read, reply to and subsequently forget all about.
