Indexing numbers is a good idea and atleast 3 digits is a good starting point.
Making the number of digits configurable is probably wise.

Subject: [freenet-dev] Should we index numbers in the spider index?

The old code apparently does not index numbers, so I have made the new code do
the same thing. But searching for e.g. "build 5104" might be useful. If we
should index numbers, what restrictions should we impose? At least 3 digits,
maybe?
