Zdenek,

I've done a comprehensive update of version numbers to the whole Devnag package and posted it as a zip file in http://kevincarmody.com/tex . Many files said version 2.14 or 2.12. I've updated all of these to 2.15. If you would like me to update them to 2.16, let me know.

I've updated chapter 10 of the manual with a description of the Vedic transliteration and Sama Veda macros and posted it at http://kevincarmody.com/tex . I've also updated the changes file. I've posted a manual.pdf, but since I have VTeX, which has not been updated in several years, I think someone with a more current TeX should re-generate this pdf for final release.

Zdenek and Santooran,

I've now reposted the 4 files mentioned below to the same place,
http://kevincarmody.com/tex .

Zdenek, I have an email from you dated 9 February 2009 that says "Thanks,
it's now on CVS." Maybe you put it there and forgot?

OK, I will look at it, As I wrote, at that time I was working almost
22 hours a day sleeping mainly in the bus when going to the office and
back home. Now I am finishing preparations f my holiday in India but
I'll try to do something before departure.

I have checked these files and they really are on CVS. We should
probably make another release so that the files can go to TeX Live
2009 and to MiKTeX.
I noticed that several files in the 2.15 distribution have old version numbers: dnmacs.tex says version 2.14, manual.tex says 2.14.1, dnchars.mf says 2.12 alpha 10, the *.fd files say 2.14. Would you like me to update these version numbers?

Hi Zdenek and Santooran,

Sorry for the delay and the confusion. I put that fix on my website
temporarily, thinking that one of the developers would soon put it into
the
release version. Zdenek, has this been done? If not I will get the
fix
and post it again in a more permanent location on my site.

Please, post it again. At that time I was working almost 22 hours a
day and then I simply forgot.

Hi.

i e-mailed you several months back regarding the possibility of making
it
possible to accent - anusvara, anudatta etc. - Roman transliterations
of
Vedam in the same way that the Sanskrit itself is accented.

You sent me a modified file, located on your personal domain, which
had
code to do this. Since we last spoke, i deleted the file.

Is there any chance that you could send me this again?

I looked into my e-mail archive and found the following mail sent to
you and me by Kevin Carmody:

=====
No, that won't fix everything. \| needs to work differently for
transliteration.

I've just developed a fix that works like this: Use \dnveda only for
Devanagari, and use a new command, \dnvedatrans, for transliteration.
I've uploaded the fix to my web site at http://kevincarmody.com/tex -
I never could get CVS to work for me. The fix includes revised
devanagari.sty, dnmacs.tex, vedasample.dn, and vedasample.pdf.
Section 10 of the manual could also use an update also but I haven't
done this.
=====

Unfortunatelly, tha web page mentioned in this mail no longer exists.
I am afraid I do not have my own copy of the modified file.

Many thanks.
