Thanks for clarification! Would be good to get input from @guozhangwang @bbejeck about this. Should we fail? Or should we pick "max"? I still favor "max", but it's not a deal breaker if we fail instead.
Nevertheless, I don't think `suppress` should check the window spec (size/advance etc) -- if a user does a "weird" join and we want to disallow it, this check should be done in `join()` instead.
