Are you aware that you are posting in the Cordova plugin's issue tracker here? Nothing here is about Ionic. You are using Ionic, which just uses Cordova in the background. To adapt my response to your environment, I even ran the command with Ionic CLI just to make sure there is no strange effect that makes it fail there.
