Did you try the solution via CSS? I think this should work, as the relevant sections have CSS classes not used elsewhere.
Aside for that I have to admit that I have no good idea how to hide content for a single page only -- except for some pretty wild hacks with the page rendering templates that I really prefer to avoid. > Thanx.
