Along with a message board I believe I'd like to see a "code samples" page on the site. Maybe nothing like tutorials, although those would be nice too. But just a section where I could upload my SQL UDF I created for formatting telephone numbers properly. Maybe there would be a way that a member could upload their code sample on their member profile page and it would get posted to the site somewhere, including on a module on the home page???? The code would have to be approved by the admin team of course but it should really be relaxed I think, very informal. Maybe we could give members a certain amount of points for each code sample. Points could gain you a title on the web site just like some message boards have.
Just my thoughts.

ohh you could also have a blog section for each code sample for discussion on it.

Aha! I was just getting ready to write and mention this; thanks for
covering it already!
I have some RSS tools already built; you can take a quick look at my
blog (http://tracylogan.com/) to examine the RSS 2.0 feed I'm creating
and the RSS (1.0 & 2.0) feeds I'm consuming (MXNA and so on, displayed
along the RH side) -- so I'd be happy to help work on that part.
By the way, let me introduce myself to the rest of you you -- I'm a
long-time CF developer, architect, DBA, blah blah blah; more
interestingly, I'm the manager of the Rochester, NY CFUG
( http://rcfug.org/); we went with Mach-II when building our site,
which I'd hoped to use to get others up to speed on OO-ish CF coding.
Clearly, it's much more useful to share development time, so Matt
invited me to join you (for some reason, he didn't chose to come up
and enjoy the lovely 15-degree temps and deep snow here!)
I don't think we've come up with any tools you haven't already
mentioned, but if we do have any parts you like, we'll be happy to
contribute them! The survey, job, and link list are all mostly
functional on the output side, with no admin or security yet --
probably more useful as ideas than as code.
Thanks, everyone; this seems like a pretty interesting and fun project!
