I'm really surprised that VirtualBox GUI wouldn't come up at all. I would expect it to show up, but starting a VM would fail with "VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration is not available on your system" or similar. I actually think this is what happened when I tried hyper-v a month or so ago. Can somebody confirm / deny that VirtualBox GUI won't start at all when hyper-v is enabled?
