That sounds weird. Could you try: <SERVER>dhis-web-dataentry/getMetaData.action
and run the output through http://jsonlint.com/ ? just to make sure the json is valid, sometimes a bad indicator or something might mess up the output (although it doesn't seem like this is the problem here).
