For ‘Number of health facilities in the catchment area’, I was thinking of
using the Organisation Unit Counts functionality found in the Indicator
numerator and denominator windows. But the problem is when I sue that, the
count always returns a value higher by 1, than expected.

So how is "Number of health facilities in the catchment area" populated? Do
people enter this data or is it populated with some script? As Lars says, DHIS2
will not calculate this somehow automatically, so it must be coming from
somewhere, either by data entry or population by an external script.

Jason

The formula (using functional water) is;-

(Number of health facilities with functioning water at the facility / Number of
health facilities in the catchment area) * 100

Okay, but what does your indicator denominator look like? Can you post the
exact formula?

There is no such thing as a general org unit count - you can insert the count
of org units within a group into the formula.

Hi Lars,

I am not using an org unit group. The hierarchy of my instance is as follows:-
MoH, Zone, District, Health Facility. Now for this particular indicator which
is supposed to calculate the percentage of health facilities that have a
functional water supply or a functional communication system or electricity
(each of these is its own indicator), there are data elements reporting the
number of health facilities with either water or communication or electricity.
These data elements would serve as the numerators. For the denominator, I need
to be able to retrieve the number of health facilities in that particular
district. So what I am doing is actually selecting the district, but the result
I am getting is always with an extra 1 added to it.

Hi Mugeni,

here is a guess: You need to use a group for your indicator which contains
facilities only, not facilities and districts. I suspect you are using an org
unit group which contains the districts as well.

Lars

Hi Alex,

Yes, it seems to be doing that. Is that by design or is it a bug?

Dear Harold,

Sounds like it counts the root/parent organisation unit.

Hallo everyone,

I am working on some indicators that require number of org units under a given
org unit e.g. number of health facilities under a district. I am using the org
unit count under the indicator numerator or denominator section, but I have
noticed that the count returned is always with an extra one i.e. where I expect
22 facilities, it is giving me 23. Is this a bug or something to do with the
hierarchy?

Thank you,

Harold
