I might have mentioned this before, but I'd like to check the current
status. Today, every time I open a diagram I have to change the settings
in order to work with the diagram efficiently[*]. I do the following:
* Toggle snap-to-grid (to enable snap-to-grid)
* Disable the 'Dynamic grid' in the Diagram properties
It's very annoying to have to do this everytime I open a diagram, and it's
made it impossible for me to get my co-worker to also use Dia (he's used
to AutoCAD software, and "needs" snap-to-grid etc).
Is there some way I can change the defaults? (I'm not necessarily looking
for session states or a setting per diagram, I'm fine with changing these
settings for *every* diagram I'll ever open. Or even disable 'Dynamic
grid' permanently (I'll still need to be able to toggle snap-to-grid). In
fact, if it's not too difficult I'll even consider recompiling Dia to
achieve this. I'm on Windows though, so the threshold is quite a bit
higher :-(
Ideas?
Best regards
/Christian
[*] I like to have snap-to-grid enabled, and unfortunately dynamic grid
doesn't really play well with that when zooming in and out.
