Thanks so much for your suggestions Mike. I will try the uninstall and reinstall tonight and see if that makes a difference. I love the program on my pc – hoping to get it to work on the mac as well.
Are there other 10.8 users on the list? Similar issues or is it working well? The only layer in my diagram is the background. See attached screenshot. I did try adding a new layer and then adding an object on that layer to see if that would help. I cannot delete the object itself on the new layer but can delete the layer itself, which in turn deletes the object. Press ctrl-L to get the layer dialog. You must highlight the layer of the item you wish to edit. If the wrong layer is current, you cannot get to it.
