Dear All

It's been a while since I last played with Dia and I'm really pleased to
see all the hard work that's been going into it recently, the release of
v0.30 is great. Layers are a great addition and I'm really looking
forward to having a good look at what can be done with them. Hopefully
I'll be able to find the time in the next week or so to update my
package of simple block diagram objects to the new version so that
another package can be added to the default palette.

One question: Alex, I see that Dia now renders objects with an
"ObjectRenderer" function. Is the only reason for this to allow objects
in the current layer to be drawn differently from the remainder of
objects or do you have a greater plan for the object renderer function?
I'm just try to get a feel for how the layer rendering works. As you
know I'm interested in "computational layers" and I'm wondering how best
they should be added.

I've just e-mail Miguel for a Gnome CVS account so hopefully I should be
able to contribute through the joys of CVS soon.

Cheers,

-Rob
