hello,
actually im pretty eager to try out your software,
but it keeps showing
problems while compiling.
i installed the newest gtk+, glib, imlib, libxml
libraries (developer
versions) and the configure script still shows problem
finding the
imlib-config and gtk-config files. together with the
xml-config and glib
config theyre in /usr/bin. so theres no reason they
shouldnt be found
i think.
the second thing is, calling make starts compiling but
it stops with the
following error:
mkdir .libs
gcc -g -O2 -o .libs/dia connectionpoint_ops.o
diagram.o commands.o
app_procs.o preferences.o load_save.o disp_callbacks.o
layer_dialog.o
display.o color_area.o linewidth_area.o
lineprops_area.o grid.o group.o
handle_ops.o interface.o main.o modify_tool.o
scroll_tool.o properties.o
defaults.o create_object.o magnify.o menus.o
cut_n_paste.o object_ops.o
render_gdk.o render_eps.o render_svg.o undo.o tool.o
diapagelayout.o
diaunitspinner.o pagesetup.o paginate_psprint.o
-Wl,--export-dynamic
../lib/libdia.a ../objects/custom/libcustom_objects.a
-L/usr/lib
/usr/lib/libxml.so -lz ../intl/libintl.a
/usr/i486-linux/bin/ld: cannot open -lz: No such file
or directory
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
what i figure out here, is that neither ld nor gcc
have a -lz option.
im not sure about the consequences. does this mean i
need newer
versions of anything?
btw. im running SuSE Linux 6.0 (2.0.34 Kernel)
id really like to see the program running, so please
tell me whats
wrong.
thanks in advance,
sebastian
