I had problems like this with some of the lists I run. Closing the lists
to non-subscribers adds a bit of work to the list maintainer (that is, if
the list maintainer wants to make sure relevant bounced posts make it to
the list). In the end I had to create a dummy post-only list of addresses
that could post to the other lists to help out people who post from one
address and receive mail on another.
If the problem isn't too bad, I think it would be nice to continue to
allow non subscriber posts.
