If the CPL creation ordering and initial parameters are cleverly set up,
then upwards compatibility may be possible. OTOH, if something gets messed
up, then the connected objects will not move, until they're clicked at :
a bit annoying (The initial SADT box wasn't using CPL ; I actually
upgraded it (before publication) using exactly this mechanism).
