We're way ahead of you:)
I find I change back and forth between reverting -- sometimes I want to
create a lot of similar objects with no editing other than dragging,
sometimes I need an edit after each new object.

I don't see any conflict between the two styles. Click on a tool and you
select it, drag from a tool and you drag-and-drop it.
