Best way to import the dia diagram?

I was recently trying to use dia to create a simple diagram then I needed to give it so someone else. I tried all the methods available on the export feature but they all seem to produce lesws that desirable results- mainly the fonts are unreadable blocks. I ended up printing it to postscript, scanning it to a  jpg then sending that image. Definitely too much trouble.
