To whom it may concern

Attached below is my previous message and here is some more feedback to
make Dia a better tool. It would be very handy to have the symbols
(particularly in UML, eg class boxes etc) resizable rather than just on
autosize. Once again if there is a means of doing this already I
apologise.

To whom it may concern

I am investigating some graph drawing aesthetics under a research grant,
specifically in relation to UML. Dia was brought to my attention after
some looking around the net for a suitable tool to create the graph
drawings and I have so far found it simple and easy to use, however I have
a few suggestions to make to improve it. My main concern is for the UML
association, inheritance and other joining lines to have a diagonal
capability, if they already do and I haven't found how to use it then my
apologies. Though you are able to draw in plain diagonal lines and attach
arrow-heads and add text for the name and multiplicity etc, it makes life
difficult when you start moving things around the page because the all the
other relevant info must be moved separately and this process becomes
error-prone. The other suggestion I have is to make the joiner lines (eg
association, inheritance) attachable to anywhere along the class/object
(etc..) symbol's edge. These things would make it a little more robust and
simple, and I must congratulate you on the ease with which it can be used
already. Thanks
