Dear All, I am new in this group and this is my 1st mail to introduce our organization SEBA and its endeavour in the field of ICT4D.
Society for Economic & Basic Advancement (SEBA) a development organization working to promote the livelihoods of rural communities of Bangladesh. The main area of activities of SEBA covers Micro Credit, Education, Health and Social Awareness in different parts of Feni, Chittagong and Gaibandha district. SEBA envision the recent exploration of ICT towards rural development and initiated a new project titled ICT for Development Program, Bangladesh (ICTDP�B) to carryout various ICT4D initiatives. Under the new endeavor, SEBA is designing a business model for Multipurpose Telecenter (MPTC) and piloting 1 center at Sonagazi, Feni. The MPTC is offering integrated services including Education, Communication, Citizen services, Health, Business information and advisory services etc. to the local communities. A website on local area (www.Sonagazi.info) is also under construction, which will work as the ICT gateway for the local communities to the world. The trainees of MPTC will contribute to manage the web site in future. You are aware that ICT is becoming a major enabler in the development activities. Moreover, ICT has already been focused by all the stakeholders of the society including Govt., NGOs, Development Partners and Private sector. You are also aware about the potentiality of ICT4D sector towards bridging digital divide gap in the society particularly in rural areas. At this perspective, SEBA/ICTDP�B is keen to build broader and meaningfull partnership with other ICT4D activists & organizations towards bridging digital divide gap in the rural Bangladesh.
