Hello Jim, Rich, "Who put those tyrants in office?" is another proper question to ask. Answer" the same folks that are now talking about forgiveness I was thinking how best to answer Rich without really stiring up some big political debates, or racial misgiving (my English is lacking at the moment). BUT Jim, you said beautifully. The reason why I used S. Africa, Rhodesia, or Zimbabwe as example in my first posting is: I am actually sadden to see things getting worse and worse for the people in these countries. We withness health minister in S. Africa in denial about the horrible HIV/AIDS situation in that country yet the person is still holding the post. It is not just people die, we see family destroyed, children left orphaned, businesses die along with the owners, social and economy structures collapsed ... Mogabe is a nut case YET he is still in power. Darfu is another pathetic situation. Would Darfu has been solved if Bush JUST for once goes along with the rest of the world AND not insist on doing thing his way? We gave a Peace Nobel price to another person who gave such ridiculous view about AIDS. WHY? Money is not an issue. Believe me. Look at the donation from the people after the Tsunami. Citizens of this world is willing to give BUT most of us are not sure where the money will go to. We are tired of seeing money NOT going to the people we want to see have a little less misery in their lives. We want to see G8 and other big charity organizations, or WB or IMF look at each individual case seperately. We want them to acknowledge they are dealing with people, and not how many billions of USD they are 'forgiving'. Their signatures could mean life and death for many thousands, if not millions, lives. Perhaps some would think this has nothing to do with DDN. But it has. These people depends on us to use cyberspace to speak for them. They have no means to 'connect' to the rest of the world. They are really and truely is 'digitally divided OUT'.
