Rene,

May be this is something we can look into. For instance, there are Akans, the
dominant tribal group in Ghana in the Ivory Coast and some Ewes in the Volta
Region of Ghana and in the French-speaking Togo. Both the Ivory Coast (aka Cote
D'Voire) and Burkina Faso (former Upper Volta) and also Togo were countries
colonized by the French and are surrounding English-speaking Ghana like the
letter n, all the work of colonialism. Families, especially in the towns of
Aflao in Ghana and Lome in Togo often meet together on special occasions and
festivities. There are still traces of 'tribal linkages and overflows' as you
move further west towards Liberia and east into neighboring Benin (former
Dahomey), Nigeria and Cameroon. There would be similar situations in other
parts of Africa and elsewhere. It would be interesting to initiate something
along that line. Let's explore this further!
