On April 1st, 2005 the Vision 2015: Your Future Youth Arts Contest was launched by TakingITGlobal and Arts For Global Development, Inc. [Art4Development.Net] in partnership with the UN Millennium Campaign. The youth arts contest aimed at promoting the ideals of MDGs, educating, inspiring, and encouraging young citizens around the world in their efforts to hold key decision-makers / authorities accountable for the promises they made at the Millennium Summit. The objective of the online contest was also to learn young artists' perspectives / interpretation of these vital issues, how they envision the world, their world in year 2015! Young artists were encouraged to emphasize their hopes, fears, anxieties, challenges, goals, and dreams in their artwork. The contest closed on May 31st, 2005 and the online-exhibition is currently taking place. They will be invited to interact with the exhibition, so as the exhibition travels a web of messages and countries is woven. Along with the artworks a multimedia video will present all elements of the exhibition, information, and additional artworks that are not tangibly showcased during the traveling exhibition. The sound project will help the visitors visualize situations and circumstances, become curious, think and feel... Brief texts on MDGs, which are going to be in multi-language, will be displayed on panels. Exhibition and exhibition launching event specifications will be discussed and decided upon once the host location is identified. The looks of the exhibition as a unique installation will mainly depend on the exhibition space and size.
