Preparing for a field trip around the world, I've been thinking of my toolkit, my bag of tricks and tips. I've been asking myself, a mere novice at technology work, what I have to offer to the NGOs and techies in Tahiti, Cambodia, New Caledonia, Laos, Vietnam, Nepal and north India.
On Tuesday, I have to make a speech to the Rotary Club that is sponsoring a three-month language course in Nepali for me, so I've been trying to formulate what is in my toolkit, the intangible things. My blog entry, "Halflings" may be of interest to members of this list because the digital divide is also a cultural one, and to refuse to see that is to face one kind of failure. I invite you to read and comment on the entry. http://www.livejournal.com/users/travelertrish/254894.html Patricia Perkins Worlds Touch http://www.worldstouch.org blog: http://thetraveler.typepad.com/worldstouchblog __________________________________ Yahoo!
