Anand, I went to the site and wanted to buy one and would like to gift 5 to NGOs who are enthusiastic about it on the occasion of new year. But I have a few questions:
I would like the colour model but I find it has no built in modem.. And costs Rs 28009 or about $650.. I can pick up a number of products at half the price that have a little more power, have a built in modem, combine phone and computing, connect to PC as well without Linux, recognise handwriting, take voice email have more storage. I would think you have some features that are not available elsewhere.. particularly Hindi and Kannada language feature.. It will be helpful if someone could justify buying simputer vis a vis the competitive models. Clearly, if it works out I would rather pick up the cheaper model but even that is for about $550.. It will be great to hear from you..: Some quick observations: I see quite a few spelling howlers on the site May be I missed it, but what is weight of the device in grams? And a question: Since you launched the colour edition, how many Individuals have purchased it.. Normally the number of products sold is fairly common product information and do not think it should be confidential..
