My experience is that everyone in this needs help--the
teachers, students and parents. Without the help it is too
easy for all of these folks to take off the shelf uninformed
views. Parents are relying on schools to provide this
guidance but teachers are often too busy--where to start is
an obvious first question? One resource is Cybersmart--a
product that we helped when I directed MAR*TEC (RTEC serving
the Mid Atlantic Region based at Temple University) to
publicize..it provides a middle school curriculum of sorts
and is a very useful starting point for teachers looking for
practical ways to supplement their teaching. You can find
them at www.cybersmsrt.org
