Position: AmeriCorps Program Director
Organization:  Community Technology Empowerment Project
 
Project Description:
The AmeriCorps Community Technology Empowerment Project (CTEP) bridges the
"digital divide" for new Immigrants and low-income communities in
Minneapolis and St. Paul.  Each year, 25 AmeriCorps members serve in
technology literacy, media production, and community outreach positions.
CTEP lead partner organizations include Saint Paul Neighborhood Network
(SPNN), the Community Computer Access Network (CCAN), the City of
Minneapolis, and the Minnesota Department of Human Rights (MDHR).
 
The new program director shares management responsibilities with the current
program director in a collaborative, peer relationship. Our program is
designed as a collaborative partnership, including management structure.  We
are looking for someone comfortable with a non-hierarchical work
environment, focusing on productivity and creativity.
 
Day-to-day human resource management and problem solving are critical
skills. While some grant writing is necessary, this is not a primary
responsibility for this position. Great communication skills are more
important than complex technical abilities, but comfort with current
technologies is expected (many of our processes are web-based).
 
Purpose of Position:         Ensure AmeriCorps CTEP is effective and
sustainable in its mission.

Reports to:            CTEP Project Management Team & ServeMinnesota
 
Essential Responsibilities:
*Member recruitment, placement, selection, orientation, training, and events
*Partner site selection and partnership management
*Coordinate member and site supervisor support
*Reporting and evaluation
*Internal and external communication, PR
*Ensure compliance with ServeMinnesota, CNCS, foundation guidelines
*Other responsibilities as assigned to achieve the CTEP mission.

Qualifications:
*Bachelor¹s Degree in related field or 3+ years of related experience
*Knowledge of program planning, development, and evaluation
*Strong administrative, supervisory and organizational skills
*Self-directed and have the ability to work independently to accomplish
meaningful, outcome-based activities
* Ability to work and build relationships with diverse individuals and
organizations 
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
 
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in program leadership, preferably AmeriCorps, VISTA, Peace
Corps or other national/community service programs
*Demonstrated successful grant writing
*Understanding of community technology issues, including technology access
and literacy

Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Compensation:  Based on qualifications
