VIA Technologies and Motech Industries have teamed up to help build a solar powered information center in Samoa. The local community has received the center with a lot of enthusiasm, as has the prime minister of Samoa, who wants to replicate the project across the island. An article describing the creation of the center as well as blogs from VIA's representative on the project can be found at the VIA pc-1 website.

Together they had been collaborating to develop the first solar powered ICT Community Center in the South Pacific, since their first meeting at the Global Alliance for ICT and Development Conference in Malaysia in late June. 2 months later they successfully put those plans into action.'
