mssql is not a database of choise. ;-) i.e. there aren't alot

And most people are now using MariaDB!
Really? I am yet to do any project with it instead of MySQL.
Its protocol (and AFAIK database layout) is binary compatible to
MySQL, so you usually wouldn't even notice it.
