I think American east cost is a natural next location. Something like
New York/Washington/Boston/Montréal .
This works for me, as I live there :)
My thoughts are, you want to do it in a place where a lot of D people
live. I believe the reason why the Berlin conference is so popular is
because so many people live in or around the area. It makes logical
sense to choose again Berlin, and possibly west coast US. I have no idea
who lives on the east coast, so it's hard to say if this is a good location.
