Don't worry, it's SFW :o).
Andrei
Congratulations. I must say that I really like the cover design.
Certainly it will stand out from the myriad of O'Reilly programming
books -- the ones which have a white background and usually a
picture of
some animal(***) on the cover.
Of course it is no surprise seeing that there is a foreword written by
Walter Bright but getting Scott Meyers to write one as well is not too
bad. It would be an absolute scream though if it also featured a
foreword by retard :-)
With a picture of him.
In a straitjacket.
But then Andrei would have had to publish the book through O'Reilly
instead of Addison-Wesley so that the O'Reilly-trademarked white
background and the usual picture theme (*** as mentioned above) could be
used for the cover design. :-)
I've often wondered what kind of animal O'Reilly would use for D. That
they would instead use a restrained Haskell programmer sputtering his
disapproval...
retard, apologies.
An interesting question which will no doubt solicit some interesting
answers.
btw, I'd just like to say that what's turned into a little
skit/twist/joke is by no means intended by me to poke fun at, or to
ridicule any person or persons named herein. I've mentioned previously
on this ng that I quite enjoy reading the some of the controversial
posts by same and as much as I'm sure I'll enjoy reading the TDPL book.
So, in other words, I trust that retard will take no offense from my
comments and nor should he/she as absolutely no offense is intended.
Cheers
