In production it's just a way to say "completed, not still in
pre-alpha/alpha/beta/testing phase". Usable. Working. Public :)
No difference between commercial, open source, free, etc ...

What do you mean by production?
Open source project? Freeware applications?
Does commercial projects counts?
I would have expected "in production" to _only_ mean commercial
projects.
