Ok the pin numbers match end to end so that means I can use it as a serial cable from my CT-17 interface to my computer??

Just ohm it out and see if pin 2 on the female side is connected to pin 2 on the male side, etc. If everything is pin for pin on at least pins 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,20 then you're good to go. If you look really closely, you should see the numbers on at least one side. ===================== From: KE5CTY Bob <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Tue Jul 26 23:14:47 CDT 2005 To: "[EMAIL PROTECTED] Com" <digitalradio@yahoogroups.com> Subject: [digitalradio] Computer Interface Problems OK I am 90 % there (I think). I have everything I need but a 25 pin serial cable. I might even have that, just need help finding out. I went all over the internet today looking for a way to test this cable and verify that it is a serial cable. Description: 25 pin D connectors on both ends One female end and one male end Numbers on cable: E157914 PRIMAX AWM 20276 80deg C 30V VW-1 If anyone knows what this cable is or can tell me how to ring it out with my multimeter I would appreciate the help. I need to know if this is a serial cable or not. 7&3 fer nw, Bob KE5CTY (old calls WB5ZQU - WY5L) 10X# 37210, FP#-1141, SMIRK#-5177 http://www.qsl.net/ke5cty/ Code may be taking a back seat for now, but the pioneering spirit that put the code there in the first place is out front of it all.
