To me CW is "the" original digital mode.

Personally I neglected CW for several years because of my extensive involvement in the digital modes. Recently I did come back to CW and mainly on 160 meters as that's the mode that most of the DX uses. The first thing I discovered was that my code copying speed had fallen from 20 wpm to 15 wpm. So I've also been doing some ragchewing on 160 and 40 meters too to get my copying speed back up.

Due to some medical issues with my hands I have problems sending CW with a straight key, keyer or bug so I use my computer keyboard and the MRPv4.060 software and make extensive use of macros, especially when working DX. 99% of the time I don't use the CW decoding feature that the MRP software provides but occasionally I do miss part of a callsign due to QRM, QRN and QSB but MRP copies it all and saves a busted QSO.

The MRP software is actually quite amazing at decoding CW. It's light years ahead of any other available software. It copies nearly 100% of the time even if the fist is poor, the signal weak and QRM, QRN and QSB is on the band. It also costs $$$ to the tune of $63. For those interested in the software you can get it at http://www.polar-electric.com/Morse/MRP40-EN .
