Dennis,
You may not need a new sound card. There is a
program caled Quick Mix that is free.
You can save the sound card setting for different
modes and computer uses. The when you want
to use it for something else just load the settings
for that mode.

& PSK31
Well, to tidy this thing up.
Last night I
investigated my sound card mixer settings and found that the volume
controls were maxxed out. I lowered the settings to mid
point and now I am getting about 35 watts out with IMD of - 24dB, as
confirmed by my first PSK31 contact, a pleasant fellow in
Argentina. So the distortion was from the sound card,
not the radio. I am thinking about getting a better quality
sound card but in the meantime I can get a decent signal out by keeping
the volume sound card in the middle of it's range.
Thanks to
everyone you gave suggestions.
