Reminded me of a talk I heard about 50 years ago by a retired
Army officer who handled communications in the Western Pacific 
in WW-II.  He mentioned that when MacArthur returned to the
Philippines he required something like 53 radioteletype channels
and four real-time audio broadcast channels.
