The gains depend on the amount of redundancy, and it amounts around 50% on the average, JNOS can use LZW compression for SMTP tranfers, which may amount a large transfer size reduction. JNOS can "automagically" decode eitrher compressed or uncompressed traffic. I understand that sources are free. For BBS forwarding, compressed FBB transfers averaged 50 percent "increase of thruput" or channel occupancy, depending on what is most important to you.. So, compression may certainly be your friend. 73, Jose, CO2JA __________ Información de ESET NOD32 Antivirus, versión de la base de firmas de virus 3832 (20090206) __________ ESET NOD32 Antivirus ha comprobado este mensaje. http://www.eset.com Participe en Universidad 2010, del 8 al 12 de febrero de 2010 La Habana, Cuba http://www.universidad2010.cu --------------------------------------------------------------------- SEGUNDO SEMINARIO INTERNACIONAL LEGADO Y DIVERSIDAD.
