G'Day All, THANKS to everyone for your help, ideas and suggestions. I tried a couple of options, first trying my newesh ASUS laptop (<6 months), this worked well and there was hardly any noise on the radio, s-meter hardly moved and was fully usable. I then tried improving the desktop, added ferrits chokes on the supply lines. This did nothing to improve things. So out came the spare computer from the garage, removed what was an ASUS power supply and connected it up to the M/B and other drives.
Turned HF radio on and powered up the power supply (not the M/B), quiet Now turned on the whole computer and had a minute (just moved the s-meter, and just heard) noise, nothing to concern myself with this time, and allowed me to receive those weak signals that are around due to poor conditions. So now I have a computer in the radio roomthat will allow me to operate both at the same time. I will improve it further when I get the earth matting completed. Only problem I have now it seems that down this way 7080 and surrounding appears to be used for voice, difficult to operate digital, but persevering (sorry for my spelling it's late) Regards and Thanks.
