Desired: Knowledge of financial products, including equities and fixed income products. Knowledge of front-to-bank trade flows, position keeping, and settlement process. Experience using Informatica or a similar suite of tools for data warehousing. Sybase MS SQL Server Description The technical data architect will work within the data architecture discipline as part of the Enterprise Architecture Group. The primary focus of the role is the following -: Provide subject matter expertise around the key database, data warehouse technologies (including MOLAP and ROLAP tools) Participate in the production of technical standards, guidelines, best practices, etc. Partner with R&D to enable adoption of emerging and transformational technologies Undertake Data Architecture/SWAT assignments in support of the SDLC The technical data architect will be capable of acting as a lead designer for new databases and will also provide technical consultancy to development teams Responsibilities Meet with data source teams and downstream application teams periodically to discuss data needs and issues Perform governance and QA of data architectures for the architecturally significant projects Perform consultancy assignments, including design reviews and SWAT assignments, as requested by IT Management. Build credibility through expertise and consistent delivery, become a trusted partner to the product design streams. Design data models including identifying golden data repositories and data warehouse requirements. Provide practical input to the design of all data interfaces. Document existing Data Flows and future data architecture Perform data analysis (Trade, Position, Customer/Account/Book, Product, Reference & HR data) Create data specifications document and data flow diagrams Create data dictionaries Analyze data exceptions Evaluate new technology products to be brought into the firm (will attend vendor demos, etc, and provide technical commentary).
