*Position Description:*

The Solution Design Consultant is responsible for providing guidance and
expertise in the *design, development and implementation of business
intelligence capabilities with emphasis on products offered by SAS.*



The Solution Design Consultant will partner with both business clients and
technical team members within the Analytics Center of Excellence to define
and evaluate business requirements, assess internal capabilities across all
analytics tools available within the organization (Business Objects, Cognos,
SAS), recommend appropriate solutions and serve in a key technical capacity
throughout the design, development and implementation cycle.



Provides integrated systems planning and recommends alternative technologies
that will enhance current or anticipated information systems that support
overall corporate and business goals in a complex technical environment
including both *MVS, UNIX and Windows operating* environments as well
as *Teradata,
DB2, Oracle and SQL Server database* technologies.



The Solution Design Consultant must possess extensive experience and
expertise in *SAS products including SAS Forecast Server, Enterprise Miner,
SAS Text Miner, SAS Enterprise BI Server, SAS Data Integration Server as
well as SAS foundation products.* Further, the ability to address business
requirements related to formal methods of advanced analytics such as
regression modeling, forecasting using models like ARIMA, text mining and
concepts of natural language processing.



In addition to providing direct technical consulting on specific projects
related to the implementation and use of SAS products and other business
intelligence tools, the Solution Design Consultant will be a key resource in
the establishment of the SAS Competency Center within the Analytics Center
of Excellence. The SDC will participates in and occasionally lead the
design, development, implemenatino and review of proofs-of-concept,
participate in post-live project activities; including evaluation of success
criteria, identification of best practices, lessons learned, and strategies
for future releases and deployments.
