Working with Data Warehouse – current Java developer B2B Informatica - Developer side experience Content Dev - current *Description * We are looking for a highly motivated individual to serve as a Contract Software Engineer/QA on the New Product Technology - Content team. The team is responsible for a set of critical systems and services that prepare the data for use by the online systems. *Primary Responsibilities:* - Provide strong design and implementation guidance around ETL processes and tools. - Develop best practices around ETL solution. - Serve as mentor to internal QA in the area of Informatica and ETL, including conducting internal training or knowledge sharing sessions as needed. - Participate in the full life-cycle of software development; including analysis, design, implementation and testing of new projects and features using ETL solution and Informatica. - Help tune overall ETL performance. - Assist with installation, configuration, deployment, reporting and monitoring of Informatica. - Assist in establishing ETL development environment, including determining how tool fits into a continuous integration model. - Participate in the data modeling design for OLTP and OLAP systems for fast access and ETL tasks. - Collaborate with other architects and technical leads on design decisions and direction. - Identify process and technology practices related to ETL that can improve efficiency and add business value. - Primary responsibility is to provide strong Java development/coding expertise on upcoming projects. - Participate in the full life-cycle of software development; including analysis, design, implementation and testing of new projects and features using Java, RAD/Eclipse, Spring, Hibernate, XML, regular expressions, SQL, Oracle, MQ, JUnit, Java, Concurrency, JavaSript, REST and several open source tools and design patterns. - Identify process and technology practices related to development and QAthat can improve efficiency and add business value. - Generate innovative approaches and solutions to technology challenges. *Minimum Qualifications* - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Willingness to work in a Technical QA role that will provide both development and QA responsibilities. - Ability to lead a project giving direction to team members - Experience with designing and implementing ETL processes and use of ETL tools. - Specific, strong experience with designing, developing, tuning, installing and configuring Informatica Power Center. - Experience with data warehousing technologies and design. - Experience with relational database technologies (Oracle preferred). - Strong experience tuning relational databases and PL/SQL for optimal performance - BS/BA in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related studies - 3+ years experience with Java and object-oriented analysis and design principles - 5+ years experience in the full life-cycle of software development - Experience on projects using an Agile software development methodology - Experience leading software development teams a plus - Experience with relational database technologies (Oracle preferred), regular expressions and design patterns - Knowledge of distributed computing applications, multi-threaded applications, and service oriented and messaging architectures - Proven track record of being able to solve complex problems independently and to seek out and generate innovative solutions - Ability to work effectively in a team environment to deliver results with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities and exhibit technical leadership Main skills are Java and ETL / Informatica.
