Ericsson AXE - 1 yr experience required

Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word 

Excellent oral and written communications skills

Capable of developing technical documents and papers  

Exhibits planning, organizational and administrative skills  

Understand the necessity for improvement and change.  

Can work flexible hours including nights and weekends

Must have a valid US drivers license

 

Understands cellular communications basics


Understanding of GSM systems


Understanding of AXE command structure


Understanding of IO access methods (IOG, APG)


Can perform backup and dump handling


Understanding of AXE HW structure (CP, RP, APT) and APT HW differences
(BYB202, BYB501, AXE810) Understanding of different APZ processor types.


Understands alarm handling, can acknowledge and clear alarms, prioritize
based on alarm level.                            

Understands upgrade/function change methods for AXE


Familiar with recovery concepts and handling


Understands AXE software structure and correction handling


Familiar with upgrade and update packages handling


Knowledge of MSC functionality


Knowledge of HLR functionality


Knowledge of SCP functionality


Knowledge of BTS/BSC operation


Can identify and troubleshoot Ericsson base station and switch problems,
verify BTS is working                             

Can verify current SW loading in BTS and load updated SW.


Can verify GPRS traffic is functioning.


Has knowledge of APG structure


Familiar with Ericsson ALEX Data Bases


Experience with Ericsson OSS and network element access, use of SMO, OPS and
CHA.  

OPS scripting knowledge.


Familiar with Ericsson Winfiol communication tool


Familiar with remote access tools and access methods, Citrix, SSH, RSG, VPN
access.                                

Familiar with SHRtool for SW record handling.

 

Preferred Skills:

Telecom knowledge preferred  

Perl scripting language preferred 

 

Scope of Work: 

Responsible for 24/7 monitoring of customer network identifying defined
problems that require some analysis by using existing procedures, techniques
and methods. 

Minimizing downtime by detecting problems early.  

Basic problem analysis.  

Developing new checks/balances via scripting of use cases.  

Sending notifications and recommendations to customer 

Log data for analysis

Member of Proactive Support Team, reports to Proactive Line Manager 

This individual interfaces with PAS team and internal customers.
