Please send me the perfect matching resumes to <mailto:[email protected]> [email protected] ASAP Position : Teradata Architect Start Date : ASAP Duration : 6 months Location : Atlanta, GA Rate : $70/hr on CTC The architect will be responsible for assisting in the design and successful implementation of a Teradata datawarehouse. The architect should have experience in laying our roadmaps and providing stepwise instructions to follow the roadmap. The architect will assist in designing the data model and converting the data model into a physical design. The architect will be responsible for assisting in performance tuning and identifying opportunities for summaries, views, indices and possibly cubes. Will assist in managing mixed workloads and managing the ADW. The architect will assist with the identifying the best methods for connecting BI tools and other query tools to the Teradata platform. Overall, the architect will help ensure that we leverage the technology effectively. Major Tasks, Responsibilities And Key Accountabilities - Lead design, development, and deployment of technical and application solutions to meet business requirements that are cost effective and sustainable. Deliver conceptual, logical, and physical solution specifications. Translate business requirements using complex methods and models to determine appropriate system solutions. Provide input into annual budget planning for technology migrations and project cost estimation. Research, identify, test, certify, and select technology products required for solution delivery. Establish and implement technology migration strategies for a specific application or architecture within an IT portfolio. Lead technology review meetings and ensure appropriate governance processes are followed. Nature And Scope - Typically reports to Senior Architect, Senior Manager, or Director No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the leadership of a work group: assign and review work, train and contribute to performance appraisal (but not hiring, firing or disciplinary action). Environmental Job Requirements Education Required - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job. Years Of Relevant Work Experience - 9+ Years Preferred Qualifications - Experience in Teradata. Teradata Master Certification is beneficial. Experience in integrating multiple subject areas is beneficial. Experience with the Teradata RLDM is a plus. Additional Skills: UNIX shell scripting, Test Director, Documentum e-room and Maestro Scheduling. Very strong knowledge of SQL and knowledge of Cognos or Microstrategy is desirable. Experience in retail will be desirable. Other skills required are: Enforce the application of established processes, policies, standards and procedures. Take business requirements and develop the total technical design on moderately complex projects. Apply good understanding of ETL, Database, Data Modeling concepts in order to ensure proper usage of these methodologies. Masters Degree Preferred.
