*Unix Admin with Linux experience* The functions that will be fulfilled by the Risk Management Operations lead include: Coordinating the following activities - • Monitoring & Analyzing production hardware and software issues and reporting its performance Managing the production calendar – ensure that the production calendar accurately reflects user operations, system support operations, migrations to new releases, and any other events which could impact throughput. Communicating these events to all stake-holders. • Monitoring user jobs, intervening as necessary to ensure they reach completion. Recording any intervention(s) using the appropriate logging and monitoring tools. Communication of any intervention to the affected parties. • Documenting and reporting systems and/or applications issues to users and development staff in a timely manner, including all relevant information and an assessment of the priority level of an issue; documenting any system changes in the system log. Ensuring that the loop is appropriately closed on all systems issues. • Responding promptly to business user requests • Performing weekend and evening support as needed • Overseeing archival of data and managing data backup policies • Management of authorized users - ensure that the set of authorized users for any applications being managed is audited regularly • Playing the role of point of contact for infrastructure changes/upgrades, attending relevant meetings and communicating issues. • Playing the role of expert user who is highly familiar with the application, its usage and architecture. Ability to support new users as they join the group. • Providing information on controls (change management, access, logging & monitoring) to oversight groups (SOX testing, internal audit, etc.) Proactively managing h/w usage, configuration & performance Developing appropriate tools to further automate the support function Ensuring that adequate processes are in place for the support function and that these are adhered to Qualifications needed: • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related fields. • 6+ years of systems administrative experience; in-depth knowledge of configuring and managing Unix/Linux systems • 3+ years of RDBMS (Oracle preferred).
