*Position Summary*

The Database Administrator is responsible for the entire database
environment, the necessary planning, design, installation, and management
of all databases, the tools to support those databases and the applications
that run on those databases. This position also provides 2nd level support
for all database related issues.

*Responsibilities and Expectations*

   - Consistently work towards meeting and exceeding internal and external
   customer expectations
   - Proactive monitoring of the general health of the environment
   - Work in conjunction with the Lead DBA, Infrastructure Architect and
   application teams in the planning, and design of all database environments
   - Install, upgrade, configure and maintain the database environment
   - Capacity Planning, Performance Tuning and Active Monitoring
   - Support of development initiatives
   - Provide guidance to IT community on best database practices and
   internal standards
   - Stay current in DB technologies



*Qualifications and Requirements*

   - Bachelor’s degree in related field of study
   - 10+ years of Oracle DBA experience required
   - Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting demands
   - Proven proficiency in the following:

o    Oracle 11G and above

o    Managing Oracle on Red Hat Linux

o    SQL & PL/SQL

o    Oracle monitoring

o    Oracle backup and recovery

o    Oracle performance tuning

o    OEM



   - Working experience with the following:

o    Oracle High-availability options

o    Oracle Partitioning

o    Oracle Patching

o    Very Large Databases
