*Summary:*
The Business Intelligence Architect is a key role in the Business
Intelligence Technical Services and Architecture team and works closely
with business leaders and users to define and design the BI Dashboards,
Reports presentation and Information Delivery for business intelligence
applications. This includes coaching and training internal users in the use
of business intelligence presentation tools to enhance business
decision-making capability. This role will also be responsible for the
strategy, design, and architecture of BI tools to support the company's
next generation data warehouse. Develop standards, policies and procedures
for the form, structure and attributes of the business intelligence tools
and systems. Researches new technology and develops business cases to
support enterprise-wide business intelligence solutions including reports,
dashboards, scorecards and mobile BI content delivery. This person will
drive the transformation of the current data warehouse to a SAP Centric
Architecture with standardized data architecture processes and lead the
transformation of the company's Data Warehouse Organization to enable the
business to visually consume and interact with information.
*Roles and responsibilities:*
- Develop strategy for implementing BI presentation layer tools within
TE Organization for the next generation data warehouse including the entire
Business Intelligence (BI) stack from standard reports, ad-hoc analysis,
drill down reports ,dashboards, scorecards and analytics.
- Implements BI presentation layer tools within the company organization
including the underlying infrastructure architecture to support rollout of
the new BI Tools infrastructure by working closely with the Infrastructure
teams ( Server , Storage , Security ...) and vendor resources
- Translates business requirements into BI design
- Designs and creates key architectural components, such as Universe
Design
- Lead presentation layer Unit and Integration Testing activities and
assist in User Acceptance Testing as needed
- Develops key delivery items, such as reports , scorecards and
dashboards
- Review, research and develop a strategy for implementing rapid
prototyping using industry-leading tools
- Work closely with End Users to produce prototypes of BI solutions and
user interfaces and define end user analytical requirements
- Work closely with project Business Analyst, Data Architect and Data
Integration/ ETL Lead to ensure that the end to end designs meet the
business and data requirements
- Work closely with Project Manager to develop and update the task plan
for BI work and to keep the manager aware of any critical task issues and
dependencies on other teams
- Develop proof of concepts to showcase BI tool functionality to the end
users and management audience including report and dashboards.
- Install, upgrade and support BI platform including evaluating and
implementing new patch releases and architectures
- Demo Dashboards and Reports to the Business Team members and elicit
feedback to refine the BI Deliverables
*Required Technical Skills:*
- Minimum of 5+ years Experience in design and implementation of at
least one of leading Business Intelligence packages (e.x., SAP Business
Objects ....)
- Minimum of 5 + years of experience with Business Intelligence/
Datawarehouse data store design ( Datawarehouse / Datamart / Operational
Data Store) environment
- Hands-on Expertise in Dashboard Design and Development using
Xcelsius Designer/ Business Objects Dashboard Design
- Experience with Business Objects Enterprise / SAP Business
Intelligence Platform 4.0
- Experience in Universe Design using Universe Designer / Universe
Design Tool
- Hands-on experience with Web Intelligence , QAAWS , Live Office ,
Infoview
- Hands-on experience in the design of Business Objects Enterprise
Server Platform Infrastructure
- Dimensional Data Model Design Concepts is required
- Experience with leading databases SAP HANA , Teradata , Oracle ..etc
- Knowledge of business intelligence best practice processes, tools,
standards and practices
- Strong analytical and conceptual design skills; strong
problem-solving skills
*Education:*
- BS / BA in Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Engineering or
Equivalent
*Other key qualifications:*
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, with an ability
to express complex technical concepts in business terms
- Must have excellent client-facing skills; solid teamwork and
interpersonal skills; strong ability to work independently when appropriate
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and projects simultaneously
with a track record of project completion
